Dr. Sara Greenslit

Dr. Sara Greenslit, DVM, CVA, CVCH, CVSMT grew up in Minnesota and convinced her mother to let her adopt cats, a mouse, and a rabbit. She moved south for college and earned a BA in biology from the College of Charleston in 1992. Dr. Sara then earned an MFA in poetry from Penn State in 1997, working as a college writing instructor and copywriter before going to veterinary school. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine in 2008.

Looking to expand her treatment options for her patients, Dr. Sara received training from the Chi Institute of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine in Florida. She earned certification in small animal veterinary acupuncture (CVA) in 2011 and certification in veterinary Chinese herbal therapy (CVCH) in 2014. Sara also became certified in Veterinary Spinal Manipulation Therapy in 2019 at The Healing Oasis Wellness Center, and is a member of the College of Animal Chiropractors. Her veterinary interests include pain management, palliative care and geriatric medicine. 

Dr. Sara continues to write, has published two novels, and contributes veterinary articles to BARk Magazine. She lives with her family and four dogs, Wren, George Eliot, Chibi and Atticus, in Prairie du Sac.
